Orchard Ice Rink opened in October 1965 behind a furniture store at Joppa road and Orchard Tree Lane in Towson, Maryland. For the first several months of operation, the Zamboni had not arrived and the ice was resurfaced by shovels and use of a hot water hose. The rink was the practice home of the professional hockey teams in Baltimore. Orchard hosted more Chesapeake Hockey League games than any other Baltimore rink. It was sold and converted into a Skateland roller rink in the summer of 1982. It is now known as Orchard Skateland.
